Challenge: When the Managing Editor of the Global Content & Editorial took a sabbatical for a 3-month round-the-world trip, WFM needed someone to fill her role in the gap time. They needed a leader who could learn fast, take initiative, guide a team of 5 in-house writers and multiple contractors, communicate with design and web departments and stay on top of production calendars. Oh, and write copy! I jumped in to steer the ship for the duration of her 3-month vacation, then stayed on as a freelancer for 2 months as she resumed her responsibilities.
